Start writing and posting!

Now that your blog is already designed, it is time to start writing and posting. Depending on your topic, you can add information (text, images, videos, etc.) as posts.

Have a look at the following types of text and their structure:

1. Article

Paragraph 1: Introduction
Paragraph 2: Your own opinion, reasons and examples
Paragraph 3: Conclusion

Writing tip: expressing opinion
Use these phrases in compositions in order to introduce your opinions:

I think that...                                    I don't think that...
In my opinion...                               To sum up/ In conclusion




2. Essay

Paragraph 1: Introduction
Paragraph 2: Development
Paragraph 3: Conclusion

Writing tip: organising composition
Divide your writing into three parts: introduction, main part, and conclusion.
These three parts have to be clearly divided:
1. Write briefly about what the topic is about
2. Explain the topic using clear ideas and examples
3. Conclude summarizing the main ideas of the topic

Use linking words in order to give coherence to your writing:
Also/Besides                    For example/For instance
But/However                    because/As a result of





3. Advantages and Disadvantages

Paragraph 1: Introduction
Paragraph 2: Advantages
Paragraph 3: Disadvantages
Paragraph 4: Conclusion

Writing tip: brainstorming ideas
Before you start writing think of lots of ideas for your composition. Write down all the ideas you can think of in relation to the advantages and disadvantages of your writing.

I live in Vandaa, a small town on the east of Finland. Vandaa has a population of seven thousand and is very isolated - it's two hundred kilometres to the nearest big town. I have lived there for three years.

In my opinion, there isn't much for teenagers to do, especially in the winter, when the days are very short (only about five hours). There is a diner and a coffe shop. Most teenagers hang around the diner and the adults go to the coffe shop. I think that Vandaa has a really good gym where my friends and I play football. There is also a small disco, but it's only open at the weekend, and in my opinion, the music is terrible.

To sum up, the best thing about Vandaa is the sport facilities. They are really good, but I think life can be boring here for teenagers, especially in the winter.
